MP joins Mansfield and Dukeries Irish Association in anniversary celebrations
Mansfield’s MP, Steve Yemm, joined the Mansfield and Dukeries Irish Association for a special lunch to celebrate their anniversary.
Sheila Strauther, secretary, said: “Our Association was established in 2005 and we have held a Luncheon Club for our over 60s members and their immediate family or carers for 20 years.
“We intend to have a celebration with an Irish musical guest in July this year and consequently, we have invited various prominent local people.
“However, the MP for Mansfield, Steve Yemm, is on official duties in Parliament for our provisional celebratory dates, so he joined us last week with his team for the afternoon.
“A great time was had by all.”
Over the years the association’s venues have changed from Boothy's Club to the Nags Head and then to St Phillips Hall.
