Marketing agency chief named boss of the year
Matt Wheatcroft, of Purpose Media, was named East Midlands young director of the year and will now compete for the national title in London in September. The judges were impressed by Matt’s “straightforward approach to business, which is all about delivering value to customers and showing them tangible results”.
Alongside business partner Tim Lenton, Matt started Purpose Media from scratch in 2008, at the height of the recession. Initially, it was a web company with just three employees and zero capital, but it has grown into one of the most respected marketing agencies outside London, employing more than 40 and turning over more than £2 million per year.
