Head teacher of Anthony Bek school in Pleasley, Donna-Marie Johnson, has given their pupils a different challenge to complete each week.

Three weeks ago they were asked to cook something from scratch and send in photographs, along with the recipe that they used.

They were overwhelmed by the number of entries, so they decided to put them all together in a lockdown cook book for the school’s families to buy.

The proceeds are going to an NHS charity.

A spokesperson for the school said: “We thought we should do something special with their creations after all their hard work.

“We have sold more than 40 already and I’m sure that number will rise.

“It's nice to do something that will benefit the community and the NHS as well.”

Any parents wishing to purchase the cookbook can do so by contacting the school.
