Mansfield Rotary Christmas Sleigh helped raise more than £6,000 for good causes
Thanks to the generous donations of people in Mansfield and the surrounding area Mansfield Rotary raised £6,449.18 for local good causes.
And Mansfield Rotary would like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone for their support.
A spokesman from Mansfield Rotary said: “Whether you donated while we were outside local supermarkets, in the town centre, or as Santa travelled through neighbourhood streets, your kindness helped us raise an outstanding £6,449.18.
“Every penny raised will be used carefully and responsibly to support a wide range of charitable causes and community needs across our area.

“Despite the continuing economic challenges faced by many families, the response from the public was truly inspiring.
“We saw young children proudly donating their pocket money, senior citizens giving spare change from their purses and pockets, and many others contributing coins, notes, text donations, and online gifts.
“Each donation, large or small, combined to create an amazing total and demonstrated the strong community spirit Mansfield is known for.
“Many residents will remember that Santa received a brand-new sleigh in 2023, and we would like to again acknowledge the fantastic support Mansfield Rotary has received from local businesses who contributed their time, expertise and resources to make this possible.
“Their generosity fully funded the construction of the sleigh and helped create something truly special for our community.
“We are also grateful to those who supported us again this year with improvements and practical assistance, helping Santa and the Sleigh reach as many streets and families as possible across Mansfield.
“Once again, Mansfield and district have proved the old saying true ‘looking after the pennies really does take care of the pounds’.
“In this case, those pennies have added up to £6,449.18, which will now go on to make a real difference where it is needed most.
“Thank you again from everyone at Mansfield Rotary, and from the many individuals and organisations who will benefit from your generosity.”
