Leas Park Junior School in Mansfield Woodhouse hosted a three-day event called ‘Reach for the Stars’ – a celebration of everything good about the school.

Toni Hall, head of school, said: “Over the three days the children created some amazing art work based around the theme, but we also had some fantastic visitors to help us get across our key messages of resilience, empathy, inclusion, kindness, pride and equality.”

The school was paid a visit by Deb Hislop – headteacher of Nettleworth Infant School; Sergeant Tony Bailey, an ex-pupil and ex-parent of the school; Callum Lawson, ex-pupil and Olympic Swimmer; Mansfield MP Ben Bradley and Emma Rawson – assistant head at Manor Academy.

Ms Hall said: “We had a wonderful few days and it was a great way to start the run up to Christmas, by helping us understand what a fantastic school community we have.”
