Remote learning, being stuck inside and missing friends and family are just some of the tough things that children have had to deal with over the last year.
We asked parents to nominate their super stars and tell us how they have made the most of a bad lockdown situation.
In these confusing and worrying times, local journalism is more vital than ever. Thanks to everyone who helps us ask the questions that matter by taking out a subscription or buying a paper. We stand together. Nancy Fielder, editor.
14. Amy Meeson and Ashley Meeson
Suzy Jane nominated her children. She said: "Our two are in Years 13 and 11, they have missed so much face to face teaching and all the other things Schools and Colleges provide; work experience, mock interviews and career advice. "They have waited patiently as this government have changed their minds and made U turns regarding exams.
" HOWEVER, they both get up, no complaints, no nagging needed and stick to their timetables for remote learning and just get on with it. "Our daughter has now had offers from all five Universities that she applied for, so to say we are proud of Amy Meeson and Ashley Meeson is an understatement! They are stars in our eyes."
