Mansfield museum closes with immediate effect over coronavirus fears

Bosses at the museum, on Leeming Street, announced the closure today (March 17), after the government advised residents to avoid "non-essential" travel and contact with others to curb the spread of coronavirus.
A statement on the museum’s social media said: “We are aware of the Prime Minister’s announcement yesterday regarding avoiding unnecessary social contact, including museums and galleries.

Hide Ad“Following on from this, Mansfield District Council will be closing Mansfield Museum’s doors with immediate effect. This is in line with other visitor attractions across the country.
