Pictures show empty streets of Mansfield in latest lockdown

This is what Mansfield looks like under the latest lockdown restrictions. A ghost town.

The nationwide restrictions came into force at 00.01am on November 5 and will be in force until Wednesday, December 2.

In Mansfield, where once shoppers flocked, the usually busy town centre was virtually empty.

All of England is now under the 28 day rules. Everyone must stay at home and only able to go out for a limited number of essential reasons.

The Government is urging people to stay at home, avoid meeting people you do not live with, except for specific purposes and close certain businesses and venues.

It’s aimed at reducing the virus spread to prevent the NHS from being overwhelmed.

The Government website says “by reducing our day-to-day contact with other people, we reduce the spread of the infection.”

“Remember Hands. Face. Space. Wash hands regularly for 20 seconds, wear a face covering in indoor settings and where you will come into contact with people you do not normally meet. Stay two metres apart from people you do not live with and use measures such as face coverings and indoor ventilation where neccessary.
