Mansfield football teams to strike the mental and physical wellbeing balance at One Call Stadium
Mansfield Mind FC will be taking to the pitch at the One Call Stadium for a special afternoon of football focused around men’s mental and physical wellbeing.
The event, taking place on Saturday (May 9) from 12pm until 3pm, will feature four teams and two matches involving players connected to Mansfield Mind FC, with many also actively involved in Mansfield MAN v FAT Football.
While the day centres around football, the wider message behind the event is the positive impact the game can have away from the pitch too, helping improve confidence, mental wellbeing, routine and social connection.
Mansfield Mind FC itself started as an idea and has since grown into something that means a great deal to the people involved. The club was created to give men of all abilities a positive environment where they can stay active, support one another and enjoy football again in a welcoming setting.

The links built through football over recent years, particularly through MAN v FAT Football, have also played a major role in helping the club grow into the group it is today.
Dominic Helley, one of the founding members of Mansfield Mind FC said: “For many involved, the opportunity to play at the One Call Stadium is something genuinely special. A lot of the group are lifelong Mansfield Town supporters, so the chance to walk out and play at the club’s stadium is something they never thought they’d experience.
"There has been a real sense of excitement around the club leading up to the occasion and the teams are all really looking forward to it.”
Lifelong Mansfield Town supporter Jack Chadburn (@mansfield_music_man on TikTok) said: “Playing at the One Call Stadium means everything to me. Ever since I was young, Mansfield Town made me fall in love with football and I always dreamed of one day walking out onto that pitch myself.
“To now have the chance to represent Mansfield Mind FC at the stadium is something I never thought would happen. It may not be the way I imagined it as a kid, but it’s still an opportunity and experience I’ll never forget.
“I’ve grown up in Mansfield, played football here and performed music here, so to be able to walk out onto that pitch in front of friends, family and people connected to the club means a lot.
“Mansfield Mind FC and MAN v FAT have helped create an amazing group of people who support each other, and I’m really proud to be part of it.”
The event takes place on Saturday May 9 from 12pm until 3pm at the One Call Stadium in Mansfield.
