“We think that many people were looking at all sorts of home improvements, and in particular doing the jobs they have put off and tidying up how their homes looked on the outside.

“We certainly noticed a trend in people coming to our showroom and saying that they wanted to spruce up their homes.”

It was a good first year as directors for Rachel and her sister Alison Phelan.

They run the business, along with their father Graham Kirk, who co-founded the company and is the managing director, and mum Sue, who is the financial director.

Graham said: “We have a wonderful team of people and I’m pleased to be able to say that we have built a reputation for being the garage door experts that people turn to for guidance and support.

“We have a number of people who return to us and that makes us very proud.”
