Mansfield events venue praised for food hygiene standards

A Mansfield events venue has been handed a four-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

The Oakham Suite, on Nottingham Road, Mansfield – which describes itself as ‘Mansfield’s premier independent venue’ – is the latest establishment in the area to be given a rating on the Food Standards Agency's website.

It was rated four, meaning good, after assessment on September 16.

It means that of Mansfield's 84 pubs, bars and nightclubs with ratings, 61 have ‘very good’ ratings of five, while none have zero ratings, meaning ‘urgent improvement necessary’.

The takeaways got very different ratings.

New food hygiene ratings have also been awarded to two Mansfield Woodhouse takeaways, as well as a Rainworth restaurant.

Chicho Italian Pizzeria, High Street, Mansfield Woodhouse, was handed a four rating after assessment on September 14.

However, nearby Leylam Pizza House, on Station Street, was given a score of one – meaning ‘major improvement necessary’.

Meanwhile, Kashmir Restaurant, on Southwell Road East, Rainworth, has been given a rating of two, meaning ‘improvement necessary’, after an assessment the following day, September 15.

It means that of Mansfield's 91 rated takeaways, 37 have ratings of five.

Four are rated one, while 11 have ratings of two, with the rest rated three, ‘generally satisfactory’, or four. None have zero ratings.
