Mansfield care home given good rating in latest CQC report
Bosses at a Mansfield care home are celebrating after receiving a good rating in their latest CQC report.
CareQualityCommission inspectors praised Forest Care Home for providing safe, effective, and responsive care and for being well led after visiting the Southwell Road West home in January this year.

And the inspection team were left particularly impressed by the level of personalised care on offer, rating it as outstanding.
“People’s care was planned in a very personalised way and staff adapted their approach to meet people’s individual needs and preferences,” the report stated.
“Staff knew people well and were observed to be extremely kind and caring.
“People were given the opportunity to have their voices heard. Staff encouraged and empowered people to make their own choices and to be as independent as possible.
“There were plenty of activities for people to partake in if they wished, with outside entertainment coming in on a monthly basis and a modern comfortable café for people and their visitors to use.”
The management team at the centre, owned by Barchester Healthcare Homes, were also commended for how they went about business.
“We found that care was delivered safely by knowledgeable staff. People’s needs and risks were assessed, managed and met in a safe and effective way.
“The home was well maintained, welcoming and clean. The management team were supportive of their staff and ensured high quality care delivery.”
Kate Gilvear, General Manager at Forest Care Home said: “We are delighted that Forest Care was rated ‘Good’ overall following the CQC’s most recent inspection. The team at Forest always strive to provide the best possible quality care for everyone who lives at the home.”
The care home is a residential care home providing personal and nursing care for up to 35 people, who have complex care needs, including older people living with dementia and mental health conditions.
The home, which was also rated as good during their previous inspection in May 2018, is purpose built and shares the building with Forest Hospital.
