The black-tie ball celebrated and acknowledged the achievements of local businesses across a string of categories, with TIS winning the top honour.

TIS – Total Integrated Solutions – supplies a range of technologies from fire detection equipment and warden call systems, to military communications and CCTV systems from its base on Hamilton Way, Oakham Business Park.

Established for more than 60 years, it is one of the UK’s leading firms in its field, supplying commercial and defence markets.

James Twigg, managing director of TIS’ combined services division, said: “Entering the competition for the first time, we were aware the business of the year category was extremely strong.

“I am so proud of each and every one of our employees; it’s down to our team and ability to work together that helped us win this award.

“Entering the awards has been an invaluable way of stepping back and taking the time to critique our business and gain a real understanding of what we are doing well and more importantly, the areas we can improve on.

“Massive congratulations also go to Bradley. His achievements in a relatively short time with TIS are nothing short of remarkable and is a reflection of the apprenticeship scheme the company invests heavily in.

“To be commissioning integrated security systems at his age is amazing and it is recognised that Bradley has a very bright future ahead of him.”

“Winning these titles is a huge accolade for the business and a measure of just how far the company has come over the past three years.

“Having the business of the year award win under our belt is a fantastic achievement and a great morale boost for the team in recognition of all the hard work they put in – I could not be more proud.”
