Mansfield Refillery opened earlier this month in their new premises on Warsop High Street, promising to help the town work alongside other environmental initiatives in the area to become as environmentally-conscious as possible.

It is a family-run zero waste shop, providing refills of household products, food sold by weight and plastic-free alternatives to everyday items.

Husband and wife team Brianne and Jon Pritchard first began their business online, but saved up to move to their dream premises earlier this month.

Brianne, aged 28, said: “We want people to start small – if you make one change a week from traditional throwaway items, it can soon make a difference.”

The couple began making their own household cleaners after realising how many chemicals went into everyday cleaning brands.

Their eyes were opened to the volume of harmful chemicals and single-use plastics used, and began selling their cleaning products online.

"It has always been our dream to own a shop, selling a combination of our own stock alongside British-made products” Brianne added.

"We pooled our savings and managed to open just before the second lockdown – luckily we’ve been established as an essential business so have been able to stay open.”

Mansfield Refillery also sell food by weight, which has helped customers reduce food waste by only paying for what they need – something which has been especially popular with their older customers.
