Mansfield Building Society receives 'outstanding' employer award

The society has been awarded the coveted two-star award from Best Companies after it was confidentially surveyed online to understand the level of engagement, fulfilment and satisfaction of its 100-strong employee base.

And the independent research found that, despite Government lockdown measures and remote working, there was an outstanding commitment to workplace engagement at the society.

Paul Wheeler, chief executive, said he believed the achievement was an accurate reflection of the positive mindset and caring culture at his organisation.

He said: “We are delighted to have achieved a two star accreditation from Best Companies in our first year participating in the scheme. The result is a credit to everyone at the society for the way in which they have supported each other and our members through a very challenging year.

“The effort made by colleagues to keep everyone engaged whilst working remotely has been both humbling and uplifting and supports our vision of being ‘a great place to work’. The schemes we already had in place for colleagues to support their mental health and wellbeing have helped us to react in a positive way to the challenges brought about by the pandemic.

“I am extremely proud to lead such a great team and would like to take this opportunity to thank all my colleagues for their commitment and hard work – this reward helps emphasise what a terrific team we have at the society.”
