Scott Treacy, who owns Moon's Barbers, is offering the community a special half price deal to thank them for their custom in the wake of the attacks.

The 39-year-old has had the front windows of his business broken on four separate occasions since moving to the premises on Nottingham Road in August last year.

Scott even shared CCTV footage of the latest incident on February 8 on social media - when two unidentified men launched a catapult at the shop, leaving shattered glass everywhere.

Since then, he has been inundated with new customers, help from the public and an increase in sales.

He has also received information about who could be behind the vandalism, which has been shared with the police.

Scott explained how the positive response from the community has helped him.

"I feel a lot better about the situation, it's put more things into perspective - not everyone is doing things like this,” he said.

"This was an incident caused by a select few people and everyone else has really helped."

Scott has also recruited a new barber to cope with the shop's high level of demand.

To prevent further attacks, he is now in the process of buying metal cages to protect the front windows - which a member of the public has offered to install for free.

People have also offered Scott more CCTV cameras to deter criminals from vandalising the barbers.

To thank people who have supported the business, Scott is offering readers of The Chad 50 percent off a luxury wet shave.

The service which usually costs £30 with use of premium products, hot towels, a face mask and post shave treatment, will be available for £15.

"I wanted to do this for everyone being so good for all the support and just as a thank you, because when something like this happens to you, you think everyone is in on it,” he said.

"But really it's just the people who have done it and no one else, most people think it's disgusting.

"People show you that not everyone is bad and it is inspiration to keep going, rather than giving up."

Readers can access the deal by entering the code: CHAD1 when booking through the Moon's Barber Shop app.
