Twenty-year-old Chelsea Adele Davis, from Mansfield Woodhouse, and her sister Esme Davis, 22, from Rainworth, both had their sons at Kings Mill Hospital, Sutton in Ashfield, within one hour and ten minutes of each other, on June 17, 2020.

The two sisters had been given different due dates and had no idea they would end up in beds next to each other in the same delivery ward – on the same day!

Chelsea gave birth to her bundle of joy Jaxson-John Peter Davis at 5.38am, weighing in at eight pound five ounces and Esme delivered little Ronnie Michael Parker, at 6.48am, who weighed six pounds and eight ounces.

The girls’ mum and the boys’ proud grandma Selena Davis was able to be with Chelsea to see Jaxson’s being born, and then popped over to be with Esme, in plenty of time to see Ronnie enter the world.

Chelsea, who is unemployed on maternity, but usually works as a barmaid, said “We had absolutely no idea that we’d end up in the same ward, in beds next to each other, and giving birth at exactly the same time!

"It was really great that we ended up together, and it meant our mum, who has four grandchildren, got to see her grandsons being born, she just thought it was fantastic, she was so impressed with us on the timing! She was so proud of us!”

"I believe we are the only two sisters at Kings Mill ever to give birth on the same day!
