Man arrested after robber entered Sutton service station with a hammer and stole cigarettes
A suspect in a Sutton service station robbery has been arrested following a public appeal.
An investigation has been underway ever since a Texaco, in Eastfield Side, Sutton, was targeted at around 10.30pm on June 9.
A man reportedly charged in with a hammer, before hitting the countertop and till with the weapon and demanding items.
The individual then forced a staff member to fill a bag with packs of cigarettes before fleeing from the scene.

Nobody was hurt during the incident and the police duly launched an investigation.
Having released a public appeal on August 11, within a few hours, a suspect had made himself known to the police.
A 44-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of robbery.
Detective Sergeant Nathan Bingham, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a very alarming incident that understandably left the victim quite shaken up, so we're pleased to have now made an arrest.
“This was made within a few hours of a media appeal being released asking the public for any information they had, so we'd like to thank all those who took the time to get in touch and share our appeal.”
