The trust’s Hazardous Area Response Team is made up of staff who have been specially recruited and trained to respond to major incidents, which could involve chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear (CBRN) or other hazardous materials or could include train crashes, large-scale motorway accidents, building collapses or significant fires.

The ambulance service said it could not reveal more details about the nature of the incident or the extent of the patient’s injuries in this case.
