A resident, who lives adjacent to the proposed development, Sarah Cadwallader said: "If this huge development goes ahead it will be a disaster for our local community.
"Heavy construction traffic down small, already congested roads for potentially four or more years will make local lives hell. Our schools, health services and even water supply are stretched beyond capacity and will not cope with another influx of 1,000 or so people.
"There is no support for infrastructure and locals can expect increased noise and air pollution if this build gets the go ahead by Ashfield District Council”.

"Such a large development could take years to build and disruption especially to the Farm View Road and Walesby Drive areas, with heavy plant accessing the site and parking issues on narrow roads.
"It will affect access and public safety, especially as we have a large number of disabled people in the area, and a special school on Abbey Road.”
On Facebook Ashfield MP Lee Anderson said: “It was good to meet Coxmoor residents who are furious about a proposed housing development on a site that was not in the local plan and has always been turned down in the past.

Speaking to the Chad he added: “We all appreciate the need for house building in the area, especially as we have hundreds of new workers coming to work at the new Amazon factory who I understand have been reallocated from other parts of the country, we need to make sure that houses are built on suitable sites.
"This site is far from suitable and has always been rejected in the past. I cannot understand why it is even being considered by ADC at this time.
"What has changed over the past fifteen years other than the roads have got busier around this estate. No houses should be built on this site.”
