Kirkby food store gets fresh new look with £100,000 makeover

A community food store in Kirkby has been given a fresh new look after undergoing a £100,000 makeover.

The Central England Co-op in Skegby Road, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, has received a raft of updates to give it a fresher feel and a number of new ranges and features to boost its offering to the local community.

The refreshed store front includes brand new external signage, as well as a special piece of artwork created by Annesley Primary and Nursery School entitled ‘What Annesley Means to Me’.

The community food store has been undergoing a makeover in recent weeks with changes including a new Costa Coffee machine, a free water refill station installed, new external fascia, an updated product range to better reflect customers’ requirements, new internal signage and decoration and new LED lighting.

Skegby Road store manager Jayne Hutsby said: “We are really happy with the changes to the store which have provided a fresher look and some great new features to offer our customers and Members.

“It is lovely of the children at Annesley Primary and Nursery School to provide artwork which we have proudly displayed on the front of the store and we hope they enjoy seeing it every time they visit.

“I would like to thank our customers and Members for their patience while the work has been taking place and we have already received some great feedback about the changes.

“It has also really given the team a well-deserved boost after they have worked tirelessly over the last few months to support the community.”
