Kath brings the seaside to Sutton-in-Ashfield for her 100th birthday

In Kath’s honour, staff at the home held a special beach-themed birthday party, bringing the seaside to Sutton for the day.
Staff also made sure there were lots of balloons in the home as they are Kath’s favorite things.

And of course, there was her highly anticipated birthday card from her Majesty the Queen.
Tracy Hickman, home admissions advisor at Kingfisher Court, said: “Kath has always loved going to Skegness over the years but as she wasn't able to get there this year, we made sure we brought the beach to her.
"We had sandcastles, Skegness Rock, the Jolly Fisherman, the Lah Di Dahs – Vintage Vocals who sang in the garden and Dinky the pony from Pony Magic Nottingham.

“There was no pandemic or rain stopping the celebrations and the feedback from Kath's family was really lovely for the team who pulled out all the stops to ensure Kath had an unforgettable and fabulous day.
Kath's grandson took to Facebook to wish his grandmother a happy birthday and thank the staff for all their efforts for her special day.
He posted: “Happy 100th birthday to my amazing Gran, thank you to all the brilliant staff at Kingfisher Court for making the day so special.
"Hope you had an amazing day Gran, it was lovely seeing you today, love you loads.”
