A news anchor who keeps getting mistaken for Mansfield MP Ben Bradley says he was asked to fix a bumpy road in the town this week- despite the fact he’s 6,220 miles away in Chicago.

Ben Bradley, a WGN News anchor in America, has once again taken to Twitter to confirm he’s not in fact the MP for Mansfield- with whom he shares the same name.

The newsreader was originally mistaken for Mr Bradley two years ago and says he still get messages from constituents asking him to tackle Mansfield issues.

The most recent requested he look into potholes on a ‘bumpy road’.

Twitter users joked the mix-up was ‘the best possible insight into UK politics’, which consists of mostly ‘bad roads, overgrown trees, speeding through residential streets, and late bin collections.’

Others suggested the network cover the story from across the pond and garner a whole new generation of British WGN fans’.
