Hitting the high note for The John Eastwood hospice

Local people who need support from The John Eastwood Hospice have benefitted from a donation from Mansfield Folk and Acoustic Club.
The club recently presented them with a cheque for £500. This was the proceeds from one of their popular singers’ nights.
Harriet Owen, a member of staff at the hospice, recently attended the club to receive the money. In their current season (2025/26) Mansfield Folk and Acoustic Club have already donated almost £1,500 to local charities.
The John Eastwood Hospice cares for people with life limiting conditions. It serves the areas of Mansfield, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Kirkby-in-Ashfield and the surrounding villages.
The hospice is a place where there is the specialist care and equipment that people need to make the most of their remaining days. It is also a place where pain and suffering can be managed with dignity for the patient, their family and loved ones. In order to provide all these services the hospice relies on local generosity.
Mansfield Folk and Acoustic Club meets every Monday, including most Bank Holidays, at the Forest Town Arena. Details of the current programme and opening times can be found on the club’s website (www.mansfield-folk-club.org.uk).
The club aims to provide a range of live acoustic music every week at a price which means no one is excluded. A varied programme runs throughout the year.
Acoustic singer and musician nights are open to all with an admission price of £1. Feature nights include 2x20 mins slots by a named performer, the rest of the evening being open for floor spots.
Admission is £2. Guest nights feature a main artist and support act for £5 entry.
Anyone interested in playing, singing or listening to all forms of acoustic music will be offered a warm welcome.
