Fundraiser for Mansfield man who lost his short battle with cancer to give him 'send off he deserves'
After losing his short battle with cancer, a fundraiser is helping to raise money to give a Mansfield man the 'send off he deserves'.
Michael Armishaw, known as Micky, was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer after he went to A&E with suspected gallstones just eight months ago.
Sadly the cancer spread to his brain and a seizure left him bed bound and unable to communicate.
Micky’s sister, Claire, set up a fundraising page to help raise money for his ongoing care and eventual funeral costs to help ease the financial burden.

Claire said: “I’m thinking ahead at this point having recently lost our father, also to cancer, and realising then how expensive a funeral is.
“I am worrying about the inevitable cost and where it’s going to come from.”
Micky sadly lost his battle and passed away on Sunday, April 26.
Claire said: “Words can’t describe at this moment in time how we’re all feeling as a family but we are so pleased to see that donations are being made and are so thankful of the love we’ve been given from each and every one of you.
“Please guys, let’s get this to its goal to give Micky the send off he deserves in life.
“He didn’t realise how much we all loved him so I’m hoping in death he certainly does now.
“Again, I can’t thank you all enough. We are truly grateful. Keep sharing as well guys, thank you.”
