It is understood the tragedy happened at the Barringers foot crossing, close to Maun View Gardens, which is around 200 metres from the station.

Flowers and handwritten tributes have been laid outside the station as people pay their respects to the 18-year-old who remains unnamed.

Among them is a card, believed to be from a family member, which reads: “You are loved so so much and we are going to miss you more than you will ever know. Fly high beautiful angel.”
