The new album called So High RN is a collaborative project centred around the story of two friends struggling with substance abuse who decided to create an EP.

It has been produced by Ryan Beard, from Mansfield, who uses the stage name HomeGrown ASBO along with his friend Tom Maddison or Maddo – who has been involved in the rap scene since 2018.

The pair met at school and Tom went to live in Newcastle but they have since rekindled their musical partnership to create seven brand new tracks.

Previously, Ryan has battled through rough periods but is now in the studio daily, striving to be heard worldwide.

He has been rapping since the age of 11, scribbling down ideas on old receipts and his mum’s notebooks. He takes his inspiration from American hip-hop and artists such as Eminem, Jay Z and Tupac.

Ryan said: “So High RN is an EP that looks to paint an exaggerated yet self-aware picture of the lower rungs of society in villages and towns such as Mansfield that exist all over the country, with a call to encourage not drugs themselves, but the creative energy that can be unlocked in states of excess.

“The EP is relatable for more than just the current youth, as the generations before - those of the 70s, 80s, 90s, and even earlier - have also experienced the apathy that comes from day-to-day life, as well as the catharsis coming from both music and other vices, many of which are often linked.”

The full EP tracklist: So High R.N, Madz & Az, W.O.D.W.N.R.P, Send Da Cheque Interlude, Son of Scarface, Long Hours & Edibles, The Overdose.

So High RN is available on all digital platforms including Soundcloud, Spotify, and Youtube.
