Edingley care home receives ‘good’ rating and looks forward to ‘new era’
Edingley Lodge Care Home in Edingley passed a recent Care Quality Commission inspection with an overall “Good” rating after being praised for a responsive, safe, effective, caring and well-led service.
The CQC inspected the home in February 2026 (the report was released during May 2026) and rated the home, run by Barchester Healthcare, as “Good” overall.

The report stated that there were, “the atmosphere at the home was friendly and welcoming, all staff were attentive to people’s needs and were equipped with the right skills, training and values.”
The report went on to say “staff went above and beyond in showing kindness, and compassion to people, treating them all as individuals and seeking person centred ways to engage each person and keep them occupied.”
Also highlighted in the report was “staff also felt they had the right support from the management team and were confident in their ability to fulfil their role.”

In celebration of the rating and to thank each member of the team for their contributions to the home, each team member was presented with £100 gift voucher in appreciation of their hard work.
We also held a party including barbecue, Ice-cream and the incredible David Fox Magic in for a morning magic performance.
He performed lots of different tricks to everyone, including rope tricks and card tricks, as well as some close up magic.
David stayed to do balloon animals for those who requested them, and later travelled around the home doing more close up magic for families and residents. It was amazing and very impressive!
Jilu Stephens, general manager at Edingley Lodge Care Home said: “We are delighted that Edingley Lodge was rated ‘Good’ overall following the CQC’s most recent inspection.
“The team at Edingley Lodge always strive to provide the best possible quality care for everyone who lives at the home.”
