David Beastall, affectionately known as ‘Beanie’ had his electric bike stolen from his home in Edwinstowe last month.

Having just retired after 31 years at Center Parcs, David relied on the bike to get around and was devastated by the theft.

David’s friend, Steven Hill, set up a GoFundMe page to replace the bike, which smashed its £1,000 target within a few days, and the bike was presented to Beanie this week.

Steven said: “Thank you to all involved in the past week to make this happen, especially those who donated and shared the GoFundMe page.

"Beanie now has his new bike and is over the moon.

“Massive thanks to Julie at Mansfield Balloon Company for the donation of the bow and balloons, and to Halfords for the donation of a new high-security bike lock and a year’s free bike care.”
