Hide AdCaz was distraught, but wanted to praise the veterinary staff, and particularly vet Kirsty Reid, who she said had gone “above and beyond” the call of duty to care for Diesel. She had cared for Diesel over the weekend, and taken home to monitor his condition.
The 12-year-old grey moggy was well extremely well-known by residents and especially the children in the Woodland Road neighbourhood.
“Children gave him the nick-name “Diesel the Supercat,” or they sometimes called him the “Bat Cat” because he regularly wore a bandana, including one with a Batman design,” Caz said.
Following his death, Caz says that Diesel received more than 350 messages in his memory.

She added “Diesel was cremated by At Rest Pet Cremations in Sutton. I phoned at short notice and they were lovely, very compassionate and sympathetic and dealt with me and Diesel in a professional manner whilst maintaining government guidelines re the virus.
“Diesel is now home where he belongs, where he will remembered for his funny ways and loving soft nature.”
