Deputy leader of Ashfield District Council facing charges after police stop

The deputy leader of Ashfield District Council has been charged with offences after being stopped by police

Nottinghamshire police reported seeing a car “travelling at speed" in Outram Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield, at 9.50pm, Thursday.

The driver Thomas Hollis, 27, of Windmill Close, Sutton-in-Ashfield was arrested shortly after.

Charged with driving without due care and attention, obstructing police and resisting arrest, he has been released on conditional bail, to appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on February 5.
