Many who come into shelters have experienced a difficult start in life and need a really special home, patience and training. Some may spend months or even years waiting for their second chance at happiness.
Here are just some waiting at the Jerry Green Dog Rescue at Blidworth and at the Radcliffe RSPCA Animal Centre who need your help.

5. This is Angel
Meet Angel. She is a very pretty girl looking for a forever home after retirement from racing, She is a little shy on first meetings, but with a bit of time and a few tasty treats can soon be the best of friends. She is full of personality and super playful but also very gentle. She needs a home that has the time and patience to help her settle and gain confidence , as being in a home will be very new to her. She could live with children aged 12 and above, as long as they are quiet and sensible, able to let her take things at her own pace. A little unsure around other dogs, she wouldn't be comfortable living with one, but could have calm walking friends to help build confidence. 6. Say hi to Niko
Niko is a male, Greyhound/Saluki aged 18 months old. He is an affectionate playful boy who has bounds of energy and would suit an active family. He is a happy dog and loves lots of attention from everyone and enjoys playing with other dogs, but would benefit from further training as he doesn’t realise what a big lad he has grown into. Niko will need a recap on his house-training but he is a very clever boy and will make a fantastic, loyal family member. 7. Meet Prince
Meet Prince, a five years and 11 months old male Chihuahua, looking for an adult only home. He can be quite worried around people, especially men, and would be looking for a minimal visitor load, as people coming in and out of his home can be very scary for him. Prince is looking to be the only pet in the home. He could be left for around 2-4 hours once settled in. 8. This is Roco
Meet Coco, a six months old German Shepherd cross breed. She is a very sociable, friendly girl who will make a great addition to a family. She has had a little training in her previous home but this will need continuing. Coco is looking for somebody who is home most of the time in order to meet her training needs and keep her busy. She may live with cats, dogs and primary school age children.
