Ashfield District Council is asking young people across the district to grab their camera phones and make a short film telling friends and family why they should recycle.

The competition is open to the under 16s, and aims to offer young people the chance to show off their film making talents as well as helping to educate on the importance of recycling.

Cllr David Martin, Cabinet Member for Streets, Parks and Town Centres said “We know that young people across the District have a huge passion for recycling and the environment, and whilst they are staying at home this is the perfect project for them to get their teeth into.

“We want short, innovative and educational videos that show creativity and a passion for recycling. We know we’ve got hundreds of talented young people across the District, so get those smart phones out and show us what you can do!”

To be in with a chance of winning a £20 voucher, videos can be posted on Facebook or Twitter with #ashfieldrecycles and tag @adcashfield.
