The scheme, now in its third year, sees Ashfield District Council encouraging residents across Sutton, Kirkby, Hucknall and the rural areas to dispose of their unwanted bulky and household waste – free of charge.

Back bigger and better for 2020, it kicked off this week in Sutton and Huthwaite, with extra waste being collected with red-lidded bin collections.

Councillor Zadrozny said: “It is a great event, we have already been collecting tonnes and tonnes of rubbish from across Sutton in Ashfield, so thank you for your support, but please take advantage of this great initiative from Ashfield District Council and get involved in making our district cleaner and prouder.”

Residents can book a bulky waste collection for up to three large items of non-hazardous waste to be collected, free of charge, between now and the end of February. For more information, or to check the dates it rolls out in your area see www.ashfeld.gov.uk/springclean.
