She had always promised her great-granddaughter Megan that she would be around to meet her great-great-grandchild, so they were all thrilled when this finally happened last month.

Kathleen’s daughter Sandra Carr, who is now 66 and also from New Houghton, is Dolly’s great-grandmother.

Sandra contacted the Chad when Dolly was born.

“It is so lovely to get all of us together in one photograph – five generations of girls.

Tracy Simpson, 43, who gets married next month, is delighted to be a grandmother:

“I am so proud of my daughter, she has grown into a lovely young woman, and this is the icing on the cake for us all.

“She is already a great mum to Dolly.”

22-year-old Megan Nussey, who also lives in the village, gave birth to baby Dolly last month, completing five generations of the family;

“My great-grandmother always told me she would be around to meet my children, but I always worried whether it would happen.

“Seeing them together is just brilliant.”
