Ashfield residents invited to showcase talents in new online competition

Residents of Ashfield are being invited to showcase their talents as part of a new online competition.

Lee Anderson, MP for Ashfield, is launching a Sunday night local talent competition for the residents of Ashfield and Eastwood.

The idea came to the MP when the third national lockdown was introduced. The competition will run during February on Zoom and is open to any resident within the constituency to enter.

So far dancers, guitarists, singers and poets have signed up. Any age can take part.

There will be guest judges – all from Ashfield and Eastwood – and hopefully lots of talent.

There will be a prizes on offer donated by a local businesses, including the Eastwood Morrisons store.

Mr Anderson has also pledged to give cash prizes out of his own pocket.

The talent show follows a month of lockdown quizzes held by the MP.

Lee said: “Life has been tough for all of us and with another national lockdown, I thought it would be something fun to lift spirits.

"There’s so many talented people in Ashfield and Eastwood so it’s a great opportunity to showcase it. Please get involved if you can by coming on the show or watching.”

The talent competition will be on Zoom and You Tube.
