Arrests made after burglary at trading card shop in Sutton
Officers investigating two commercial burglaries, including one in Sutton, where valuable stock of collectable trading cards was stolen have arrested three suspects.
Intruders smashed a window at Sanctuary Gaming in Forest Street, Sutton, before stealing cash from the till and stock of Pokémon, Digimon, and Star Wars collectable trading cards.
Response officers arrived within two minutes of receiving the emergency call, but the offenders had already fled the scene at around 4am on Boxing Day last year.
A significant number of trading cards were recovered outside the business, having been dropped by the suspects as they fled.

Other cards were recovered from an address nearby, after a member of the public reported that two large bags for life containing Pokémon cards were found stashed under a trampoline in a garden.
Following extensive CCTV analysis, officers arrested a 40-year-old man on suspicion of burglary at an address in Sutton on January 18.
He has been released on conditional bail while the investigation continues.
In a separate incident, officers were called to reports of a burglary at Jakes Breaks in High Road, Beeston, after thieves broke into the shop at around 6am on New Year’s Day.
Two suspects were caught on CCTV trying to smash their way through a glass pane in a door with a metal bar, before returning minutes later with a concrete slab.
Stock of Pokémon and Magic: The Gathering collectable trading cards, with an estimated value of more than £9,000, was then taken.
Following forensic and CCTV work, officers investigating the break-in arrested two suspects at an address in Beeston on 8 January.
A 49-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary and possession of a Class B drug.
A 38-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of burglary.
They have both been released on conditional bail while investigations continue.
Chief Inspector Paul Hennessy, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Having your business burgled is a disruptive and distressing experience that can leave a lasting impact on victims.
“We understand that both of these incidents will have been particularly unwelcome on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, which is why we take all reports of burglary so seriously and do all that we can to place suspects before the courts.
“The arrests of these three suspects are a significant development in ongoing investigations into some serious crimes and we hope that the positive action we’ve taken provides the public with some reassurance.”
