Armed officers make double arrest in Sutton after drugs and cash found in car
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of drug offences after officers discovered suspected Class A drugs and a large quantity of cash during a stop in Sutton.
Officers from the force's armed response team made the arrests after spotting a vehicle parked on Alfreton Road at around 12.01pm on Saturday, October 10.
After noticing the marked police car, one of the occupants attempted to leave the area. Officers intervened and detained both men.
An initial search uncovered a large amount of cash; however, officers became increasingly suspicious when the men failed to provide clear answers to their questions.

A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered several sealed bags containing suspected Class A drugs.
A 23-year-old man and a 38-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
The arrests are the latest as Operation Nexus continues across Ashfield, with the force continuing to deploy additional resources and enforcement powers across the region to tackle antisocial behaviour and crime hotspot locations.
Chief Inspector Ed Cook, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "After identifying a suspicious vehicle, our officers acted quickly and, relying on their experience and instincts, made two arrests on suspicion of drug dealing.

"This is a good example of excellent police work, and alongside Operation Nexus, we continue to deliver results across Nottinghamshire, with officers using additional resources to disrupt antisocial behaviour, drug dealing and other criminal activity in our communities.
"This is a great result, and we will continue to target crime and those responsible wherever they operate."
