Albino ferret 'well known' to Mansfield community stolen, leaving owner devastated

A devastated Mansfield pet owner has appealed to the public for help in tracing her Albino ferret after the animal was swiped from its hutch in her back garden.

Chloe Pickwell says she was left ‘heartbroken’ when she went to check on one-year-old Bruce at around 12pm yesterday (Tuesday, May 26) and discovered he had been taken.

She said: “He normally stays in bed for most of the morning, but I noticed he hadn’t been out for a drink and started to get worried. But when I opened the hutch, he had gone.”

According to Chloe, who has reported the incident to Nottinghamshire Police, there have been sightings of Bruce on Holden Street near Asda, where a couple were ‘feeding and taking photographs’ with the animal.

The ferret is microchipped and is reportedly ‘very friendly’ and ‘will not bite’.

Chloe added: “Someone must have seen him. I walk Bruce every day and live near Mansfield town centre, so he is well known in the community. All the pet shops know him.

“I just want him home safe.”

A Facebook post appealing for information on Bruce’s whereabouts has been shared over 1,000 times.
