9. Pop to arts and crafts market
The Harley Gallery at Welbeck is well known for its annual arts and crafts market every November. But this year, it is breaking with tradition and, instead of its usual three-day event, it is holding a series of pop-up markets every Friday, Saturday and Sunday until December 19. Heaven for Christmas shoppers. Photo: Submitted

10. Enjoy a North Pole Experience
Immerse yourself and your family in the spirit and magic of Christmas by taking in a North Pole Experience at Thoresby Park. It's an exciting, new festive adventure in which you meet lots of Santa's friends, including his elves, and then the man himself in his woodland cabin. Slots can be booked every day until December 23. Photo: Submitted

11. Shine bright at The Diamond
You might remember a special feature on The Diamond music venue in Sutton in the Chad a few weeks ago. Now is your chance to try The Diamond for yourself because, this weekend, there is a triple-header of tribute bands, featuring the sounds of UB40 (Friday), female rock artistes (Saturday), ELO and The Beatles (Sunday). 12. See the sights on big wheel
We started this guide by flying high, and that's how we're going to end it too. The Wheel of Nottingham has returned to its Old Market Square position until New Year's Eve, and it's a must-try if you want to see the sights of the city from 60 metres in the air. Photo: Submitted
