9. Cleo
Cleo is a medium to large Labrador mix, aged two-and-a-half. She ideally needs to be the only dog in a household. Cleo was originally rescued as a puppy from a rubbish dump in Macedonia, along with her eight siblings. She now longs to be the centre of attention in a home where she has plenty of space to stretch her legs and play. Cleo spent almost a year in a home but was returned because she struggled with the busy environment. The presence of numerous children, other resident dogs, and high noise levels caused her stress and made it difficult for her to adjust. She is now thriving in the quieter atmosphere of the kennels. An experienced handler is needed. Photo: Doggy Dens

10. Shelby
Meet Shelby. Shelby is a four-year-old medium mixed breed dog. Although she is initially shy, once she establishes trust, she becomes extremely affectionate and loving. Shelby will thrive in a home with experience caring for shy or low-confidence dogs. She was originally rescued from Macedonia and has had some unpleasant experiences in her past, including exposure to domestic violence. Shelby walks very well on a lead and is neutral towards other dogs she encounters. While she could potentially live with another dog, ideally a calm older dog, she would prefer to be the only pet in the household. Photo: Doggy Dens

11. Colin
Colin is a four-year-old dog who needs to be the only pet in the home and requires an experienced owner. This playful boy can live with children aged 15 and older. Colin is loved by the staff and volunteers, having spent some time at the kennels. He is seeking a forever home. Photo: Doggy Dens

12. Big Fred
Big Fred is a seven-year-old Labrador mix. He is an amazing dog with a fantastic personality and an endearing sense of humour. All he needs is the chance to leave the kennels for a loving home. He has an abundance of love to give and is a favourite among the staff at the shelter. He will be missed deeply when he finally finds his forever home. He truly is a healthy and happy boy. He has the potential to be a strong dog and may be a bit clumsy, so it’s best he isn’t placed in a home with young children or cats. Photo: Doggy Dens
