Here are just some of the new developments in the area we are hoping to see progress with by the end of this year.
5. New ‘maker space' in Sutton
The former DWP building in Sutton-in-Ashfield is set to be transformed into a ‘maker space’, offices and an education hub. The council says this facility can be used for hobbies, learning a new skill, starting or building a business, or to provide a ‘sense of community’. Photo: m
6. Portland Square, Sutton
Portland Square is being transformed into a “contemporary public space which can be enjoyed by all residents, visitors, and businesses”. The creation of two urban green spaces, featuring eight mature native trees, lawns, inbuilt seating and lighting, are the centrepiece of the plans. Photo: m
7. Warsop Health Hub
The project will see a 15 metres by 8 metres swimming pool, a changing village, fitness suite, multi-purpose hall and multi-use games area created. Photo: m
8. Mansfield Woodhouse Station Gateway
Three business units will be created on a former brownfield site adjacent to the railway station. The project, which is due for completion by spring, will ‘support the growth of businesses in Mansfield and create jobs’. Photo: n
