Pensioner dies after car crash

Police are appealing for witnesses after an elderly pedestrian died as a result of injuries he suffered during a collision in Alfreton.

At about 9.45am last Thursday, a red Ford Fiesta was in collision with an 89-year-old man on High Street near to the Nationwide Building Society.

The man was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham after suffering serious head injuries. He died as a result of those injuries on Saturday.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or events leading up to the collision.
