LETTER: Incinerator system would generate electricty from rubbish

The first Mansfield District Council had one bin per household and an incinerator that burnt all the rubbish.

It saved rubbish being dumped on a landfill site for hundreds of years. The tin cans were taken out by magnet and were taken away in big blocks, the smoke went into the atmosphere.

Today the incinerator smoke could go underground into the many old pit workings.

The lorry tipping point could be at the nearest major road and transported by conveyor belt to the incinerator (rubbish sorted on the way). This system would work and develop free electricity from our rubbish.

The nearby community should be compensated for any inconvenience.
