What a night, What a night - the Stags made the FA Trophy semi-final at the second attempt.
I can’t believe what is happening at the moment at Field Mill.
There is just so much going on and now we have a semi-final in The FA Trophy against Luton Town.
There is a backlog of games in the league which means a very long run in to the finish line and a very busy April.
My views on last night game are that we started slowly again as they did at Chasetown in the first game, but with time we began to take over the game and push the part timers back towards their own goal.
Our midfielders and forwards at times looked like they were reading from the same script, and Adam Murray was the one to break down the Chasetown defence with his strike. I started to think of how I would get to Mansfield for a Sunday morning kick off.
But Chasetown had other ideas and pulled back the goal back and I thought we were in for a long night but happily for my health and everyone else’s in the Stadium.
Danny Mitchley and Louis Briscoe finally took the Stags through to our big day with Luton.
I am very happy for Duncan Russell and the boys because they deserve this crack at Wembley after all of the spirit they have shown. They should get this crack at making the big stage and a wonderful day out for the town of Mansfield.
