There are not enough words to describe how brilliant the whole team of staff and volunteers are.

When I got there, I was told to have the vaccine myself as I was working there, which I was not prepared for, but I wasn’t arguing.

I can honestly say that it was the real vaccine, there was no micro-chip injected into my body and from now on Bill Gates will not be tracking me wherever I go.

The point I am making is that as an MP I should be prepared to do what we are asking the whole country to do, and it really brings it home when you see all the elderly and infirm coming for their vaccination.

This disease is real, and the sad fact is that the over-80s group are suffering more than most.

I was a little bit disappointed at the amount of hate directed at me for taking the vaccine by the usual hate mob on social media shorty afterwards, who accused me things like using my MP status to queue jump.

Funnily enough, these were the very same groups of people who just last week were saying that Covid is not real and the vaccine is dangerous and will alter your DNA.

I took my vaccine so I could volunteer safely at the centre and play my tiny part in this national effort and my advice to the keyboard warriors who seem to thrive on ridiculing anyone taking Covid serious is simple – go and do something good, it will make you feel better.

A few weeks ago, I was contacted by a young man who wanted me to get in touch with Nottingham Forest to arrange for his granddad, who has just overcome cancer, to go to a match and meet all the European Cup stars.

Not only did I get Forest to agree to this but with the help of my good friend Craig Gould, John McGovern, ex-Forest Captain and twice European Cup winner called this gentleman from Sutton and had a long chat about the glory years and Brian Clough.

I have been contacted by his family who said he was overwhelmed, and it has made him a very happy man, which made me happy as well.
