Hide AdI pray for the continued recovery of those still in hospital. I absolutely condemn the violence and rioting we saw last week in various cities. Our police should not be attacked. They have to put up with all sorts of abuse, we need to be giving them some slack.
I was staggered at the Government’s decision last week to scrap winter fuel payments for most pensioners, whilst at the same time deciding to give away £11.4 billion of your money to other countries.
How can the Chancellor claim we are in the red, yet miraculously have enough money to send to other countries but not enough to look after our own people?
This was not the only outrage announced during Labour’s economic statement. The care home cap was due to start next year and Labour had pledged to honour this policy throughout their General Election campaign. The policy was designed to stop people having to sell their homes to pay care home costs.

Hide AdHowever, Labour have now turned their backs on people who have worked hard all their lives.
A few weekends ago, I was in Sutton and noticed a group of people shouting and bawling, whilst obviously intoxicated.
Where are our police? Why isn’t the Ashfield Independent-led council doing anything about it? I will be asking them to visit the town centre with me as this situation is not fair on my constituents.
