VISITORS to Mansfield town centre are being offered half-price parking two days a week during September and October.
It will cost only 50p an hour to leave a car at the Walkden Street Multi-storey Car Park on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
The car park, which has 455 spaces, is open from 8am-6.30pm and Mansfield District Council is introducing the offer with Mansfield Business Improvement District (BID) to encourage more people to visit the town centre.
Coun Kate Allsop, portfolio holder for economic regeneration, said: “Mansfield town centre has lots to offer including an exciting range of big name high street stores, smaller independent shops and a thriving market as well as the Palace Theatre, Mansfield Museum and lots of cafes, bars and restaurants.
“I hope this offer will bring extra visitors into the area, encourage residents to shop local and will mean those that already visit Mansfield can afford to stay for longer. This will all help to give our market and businesses a boost.”
