Obstacle race will test mettle

A charity that supports stroke survivors is calling for fundraisers to push themselves to the limit in an obstacle race of Titanic proportions.

The Stroke Association is calling out for runners who are up for a challenge to take part in the Dash of the Titan obstacle race on Saturday, March 26, in Thoresby Park, Nottinghamshire.

Runners can choose from two races - the Titan Dash, a five kilometre off-road obstacle race at 10am, or the Titan Survivor, a ten mile off road obstacle race at 1pm.

The race will be taking place in the park’s North Woods, where runners will be pitted against obstacles including water, mud, hurdles, walls, tyres and even spiders’ webs.

Alexa Wigfield, regional fundraiser at the Stroke Association, said: “The Titan Dash and The Titan Survivor are designed to take you out of your comfort zone and test your ability.

“Taking part is a fun and inspiring experience, but there’s a serious purpose behind it - stroke is the leading cause of complex adult disability in the UK.

“At the Stroke Association, we want to be there for everyone affected by stroke, so please do join our team and help us raise the funds that could make this a reality.

“The money raised by our Titans will go towards research into preventing strokes, and supporting stroke survivors and their families to rebuild their lives after stroke.”

To secure a charity place or for further information, contact Alexa Wigfield on 0115 871 2469 or email [email protected].

There is a minimum fundraising target of £200 to secure a charity place.
