NOTTS: Severe weather warning

Met Office forecasters have issued a severe weather warning for the county this afternoon, with the risk of localised flooding, hail and wind hazards.

The yellow alert says scattered but potentially intense thundery downpours are likely to develop from the middle of today onwards and drift north across the region.

Forecasters say the public should be aware that where these occur, they could bring a risk of surface water flooding, with lightning, hail and gusty winds posing additional hazards locally.

Drier conditions will follow from the southwest during the evening.
